A foundation is a public, non-profit corporation that has been approved by the Internal Revenue Service to receive tax-deductible contributions and bequests.
What is the goal of an Education Foundation?
The Education Foundation seeks to enhance the educational experiences of students within the school setting through a variety of grants, projects and/or scholarships.
Will my donation be used for students in the Tyrone Area School District?
Yes, all donations made to the Tyrone Area Education Foundation will be directly applied to grants, projects and/or scholarships established by the TAEF.
Does my donation need to be made as a one-time gift to the Foundation?
No, gifts may be made to the Foundation as a one-time gift or multi-year pledge (maximum of 3 years).
Can I earmark my donation for a certain grant, project and/or activity?
Gifts of $10,000 or more will be eligible for earmarking toward a specific type of grant, project, or scholarship. Individuals interested in establishing annual scholarships at other amounts will be directed to the Tyrone Area School District or the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation.
Will I be notified as to how my gift is used by the Foundation?
Yes, in addition to receiving notification from the CPCF that your gift has been received, the Foundation Board of Directors will prepare and disseminate an annual report detailing the organization’s activities for the school year.
